Hi all,

I just wanted to let you know how we're doing here in BO.

Cindy and I are getting along just fine and starting to adapt very well, we are still not venturing out too far though. I will be preaching at Galehun tomorrow and presenting the key board that was donated by a family at Living Water Assembly in Onamia, Mn.

I decided to go ahead with the razor wire for the house in Bo because of security and safety issues, all the neighbors are happy to see the development. Also Cindy and I painted the interior of the house with the help of BK and Sela, now expert painters. I might add We had a showing of the Jesus Film in Krio in the house a few days ago with BK and a few of the guys, they were quite interested with eyes glued to the screen. We all prayed together afterward and I believe they all were touched. They still say they are with me an want to attend church. Cindy and I had 5 in the pickup with us last Sunday. I want to challenge them to fully commit their lives to serve Christ but I'm not sure they understand yet. Please pray for the Holy Spirits enlightenment and conviction in their lives.

Things just go so slow here I don't feel like I'm getting anything done, we haven't even touched the used clothing we sent from Minnesota. Cindy is working on a scripture memory program for the kids, she found come colored construction paper and is manufacturing cards and large signs. We haven't even been over to the ministry center. We did make contact with all the pastors in our group though and have met with some of them. Pastor Alex from down the street stops buy almost every day and seems compelled to immerse us in the Mende talkin', he is also joined in his efforts to instruct me by all the ladies on the block who also treat me like the local 2 year old who needs to learn the whole language today. It's good to know people love me though.

Bunmi is in need of funds to continue fixing computers and Peter Kiow is asking for money to pay security and the electric bill at the center here in Bo. I guess that's normal for Sierra Leone, everybody wants something. Well I'll close for now, I hope you all have a blessed day.

Please pray for our household helper Judith, she has been very sick for a few days. Pray that God will heal and strenghten her, she is such a blessing and joy to us.

Cindy's Sierra Leone Update

14, January, 2009
Greetings from Sierra Leone,
Danny and I are rejoicing today! Yesterday we finally got our new license plates and insurance for the truck. I guess they were out of some sticker we must attach to the plate so we will pick that up later. We celebrated in typical McCollor style, we headed straight to the ocean for a couple hours of cool, relaxing swimming. We had our three tireless helpers with us, P.M., Santos, and Amora. They are not much for swimming so they sat under the palm trees at the table and chairs drinking some cold Squeeze orange soda and waited for the chicken dinners we ordered to arrive.
This is the first time in my 51 years I have been swimming in the ocean. I have seen the Atlantic and the Pacific waded along the shore but the water has always been too cold to swim. Yesterday however the water was as warm as a bathtub full of water. I was surprised to taste the saltiness of it.
Today we are working on getting our lugs nuts loose on our truck and we must register at the American Embassy. We are hoping to go to our new home in Bo on Friday the 16th. Update on Thursday lug nuts are loose! Praise the Lord! Now we just need to find new ones to replace the stripped ones. NEW UPDATE: Fond New Nuts, after about a dozen stops, now we have 4 different style lug nuts on the pickup, VERRY COOL!
We have about 2 more pick up loads of things to bring up there and hopefully our moving days will be done for awhile.
B.K. is anxiously awaiting Danny’s arrival in BO to bring Jesus to him. He is sure there will be many others who will be interested in hearing about Jesus as well. BK is the Chief in the town we will be living in, Bo#2. We will be showing the Jesus films up there. We have a few different formats of the film. One has a “football” soccer theme. It starts out with testimonies from famous football players about how Jesus has changed their lives. One is spoken in Krio a very common language here and one is narrated by Mary Magdalene geared toward woman.
We will also be working with a local Pastor in the village of Gelehun. Pastor Phenow, pastor’s the church Rev. Dr. Shaka built next to the land “No Greater Love International” hopes to build the children’s home on. We are very excited to see how God will use us to help Pastor Phenow and his church. Before Dr. Shaka left for the States, we were able to take a trip up country with him and see Bo, Gelehun, and trek through the bush on the land God provided. It is very fertile land. I am sure once things get going we will be able to plant many things and grow them on it.
Danny and I have been using our time wisely waiting for the paper work to be done on the truck. He is continuing his studies through Global University to complete the courses he will need to become an ordained minister of the gospel. I have started working on what I will need to be a certified minister.

I want to thank all of you who have taken time to email us back. I can’t tell you how much it means to us to check our inbox and see a note from someone. I know we have only been gone 3 weeks now but it seems like months to us.
As we send out this letter we will be including a lot of people who might not be interested in what we are doing if that’s you, let us know and we will drop your name from our list.
Anyway God bless you all and please keep praying that God will open the doors to spread the good news of Jesus Christ’s Love in Sierra Leone.

Sweating in Sierra Leone

Hi Everybody,

Well here we are, Cindy and Me in hot sunny Sierra leone. Life has certianaly been interesting this last week or so. We arived Christmas Eve. 2 bags short, the good thing is in a few days the airlines had retrieved our bags, the bad thing is some of our belongings were gone, oh well TIA this is Africa.

Most days are tolerable for a Minnesotian like me who's used to -20 farenheight but waking up to 80 with 88% humidity is just hard on a boy from the frozen tundra this time of year.

Most of you know Cindy and I are fanatical Jesus People and came here to tell people about the good news of Christ's love, well we sure had a great supprise when we traveled to Bo (our home city in Sierra Leone) when the chief of Bo#2 said that now that Cindy and I have come he's going to buy some new clothes and become a christian now too. I had spent some time talking to chief B.K. in a previous trip about christianity and espicaly what it ment to be a christian. I was so excited to hear of his positive responce. Cindy and I both aggred that is well worth any inconvience we may incure.

Well there is no power and I'm worried about the battery so I'll have to finish later. Sorry no time for spell check, just use your imagianation if you don't have the decoder book.

Blessings! Rev. D
