Youth Camp Assembly of God South Kenema District

Posted by PicasaDanny gave the evening Keynote Address to open the week long camp. He encouraged the youth to press into God as they are the future leaders of the church and the future leaders of Sierra Leone. They were very excited, at the end he gave an invitation to anyone present who did not know Jesus in a personal way to come forward. One adult man, one teenage youth and a couple of children came forward to give their hearts to Jesus. Praise the name of Jesus!

MY FAVORITE

Posted by PicasaPastor Sowa in the photo praying for some of the youth on day 2 of our Jesus Film Festival at the Bo Police Barraks, do you notice in his hand many sheets of paper? We asked all the people who came forward to give their lives to Jesus the first day to write down there names and addresses on paper and bring it back on the second day, I was so suprized at the positive responce. Also the 2 children in the forground are holding gospel tracts, we handed out 100,s during the 2 day festival and the people were excited to get them, we didn't even see 1 left discarded on the field the next day.

Partnering with Pastor Bokerie and Better Hope Church, Bo, Sierra Leone

Notice the light on Pastoe Bokerie's head? This rechargable Coleman is our "stage lights" for the gospel presentation at the shows along with a 3 D cell Mag-Lite flashlight, or as they say here torchlight. We just make do with what
we have.

The Bridge! Cindy walked and directed Danny accross it

Posted by PicasaThey say a picture is worth a thousand words, I say pictures do not do justice to the real life adventure. This bridge has about a one story drop to the stream below. It was solid, but not wide enough for my comfort. We crossed it 4 times in the couple day trip to the village.

Chief BK giving his testimony at the village

Posted by PicasaThis village is 32 miles from our house in Bo#2. It took close to 2 hours to drive there. 1st and 2nd gear all the way. The last 2 miles were a drive with one set of tires on the foot path and the others in the bush. No cell phone service out here, no electricity, no modern conveniences of any kind. We were told most of the poeple who live in this village have never seen a white man. They were very excited and honored that we would stay over night with them. They made us delicious sauces and served it with their native rice which is reddish purple and white.

Praying with people before the Jesus film show in Mende

We pray God will get ahold of more people in this village. There is a number of Christians already here. We were praying for God to touch their bodies with healing.Posted by Picasa

Some of the crowd at the film show

Posted by PicasaThere was no way to tell how many came to the film, but they came from surrounding villages too. It was a great time for Danny and I.

The people God touched, please keep them in your prayers!

Posted by PicasaOur prayer is we will see lots of people from Sierra Leone villages in heaven!

The Local Game played everywhere in Salone

Posted by PicasaIt is has some moves like checkers and some moves like chess. I could not figure it out and soon it was time for the set up for the film to start, maybe next time.

You carry children on your back here

They start very young, learning to be mothers. You sometimes will see boys too carrying siblings on their backs. Everything else is carried on their heads. Very gracefully I might add as well.Posted by Picasa

Pastor's Wives Conference at Kenema

Posted by PicasaThree days of teaching, fellowship, and Praising God. We had a great time with the ladies. It was a time of refreshing and encouragement for the wives. God Bless all the pastor's wives as they have a tough job. Front center, pink dress is Rev Cornelia from Evangel Bible College in Freetown. She was the guest preacher each night at the revival services. I (Cindy) especially enjoyed matching all the other ladies. This was their second conference, they are held every 2 years at a different city in the South/Kenema District of the Assemblies of God in Sierra Leone.

Danny gave the Keynote address for the conference

This was actually on Sunday Morning at our host church for the conference. The final day of celebration before we all went our seperate ways. His message was on salvation and commitment to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Please pray for all these who came forward that God would reveal Himself to these people. His message was taped to replay on a local radio station. Posted by Picasa

Kids Pose After Mende Bible Study

Latest Development: Mende Bible Study, notice no pume-way (white people). Many of our neighbors speak no English (the official language) and little Krio (the general language) so we're helping Chief BK and his assistant Immanuel set up a Mende (the local language) bible study.
THIS IS OUR MOST URGENT PRAYER REQUEST, PLEASE PRAY THAT THIS BIBLE STUDY WILL BE ESTABLISHED AND CONTINUE LONG AFTER CINDY AND I RETURN TO AMERICA, UNTIL JESUS RETURNS.Posted by Picasa
