New bibles

Cindy & Chief Daddy Boke show off the new bibles we were able to purchase here in Sierra Leone, thanks to generous contributions by friends back in the USA. Besides these we had over 100 bibles that were carried on the plane from the USA. We were able to give away most of the bibles before we left, a few were left with Pastor Sowa, District Superintendant of the assemblies of God Church Bo, Kenema area for later distribution.

What it's all about

This is a picture of the some of the people who came forward to have there sins forgiven and give there lives to Jesus Christ 1 night at Matru Jong. All the work of loading, unloading, set-up, sore backs from the bumpy roads, and cramped quarters, being packed in the truck like sardines makes sense when we see people make decisions for Jesus Christ. Jesus said, "The angles in heaven rejoice when 1 sinner comes to repentance." The angles are glad and we're glad too.

Matru Jong Church

Pastors T.Y. and Sowa on the right with some of the church members at Matru Jong. One of the problems in churches is the lack of bibles so the people can grow in thier faith and knoledge of God. Thanks to The International Bible Givers in Anoka, Minnesota many recieved new red New International version bibles. Also Pastor T. Y. reports many new converts in the church after our 2 day Jesus Film Festival held there.

Holiday Celebrations

This is a common scene during the holidays here in Sierra Leone. The girls in costume are being initiated in the Bondo Society. They will be considered women after completion and excepted in the community. The practice has received much criticism because of the "Female Circumcision" associated with the ritual.
