Some of our Bible Study members at Missions 2009 Conference

Posted by PicasaWe had a truck full everyday to take to the convention. What a wonderful time we had! The conference organized and funded by the African Churches. Assemblies of God Pastor Kefala had the vision for it, but many pentecostal churches were involved. The Holy Spirit annionted all the teachers and preachers what an exciting time! I have never been to a better conference in my life. God is good all the time, all the time God is good.

Danny & Cindy Share at Missions 2009 Conference

Danny and Cindy at the conference. Danny was asked to give the Keynote Address on the first day. He was nervous, but God gave him the words and he did a fine job. He was relieved to have his part over so he could sit back and enjoy the conference.

Crowd responds to Rev. Samuel Kargbo's missions message

What a wonderful time of praise and worship we had. The conference was for 3 days. Everyday they served us lunch, no small task for 350 people cooking over an open fire. The rains made lunch a couple hours late one day. We had a groundnut stew with fish and beef two days and crane crane the other day( a green leaf with orange palm oil and fish)goes without saying over rice. To an Salone (slang name for Sierra Leone)man if you have not eatin' rice today, you did not eat. The food was Delicious! and to Cindy's relief not too spicy.

Danny & Cindy with Charles & Kathleen McMillen AG Missionaries to Sierra Leone

The head table at the conference up on the platform was reserved for us. We felt very humbled to be asked to sit there and relieved when we could go down and sit with the "regular" folks. It is amazing how God can bring people from different backgrounds together and they can all have a great time worshiping Him!

Cindy sharing her brief testimony and how God called her and Danny to Africa to tell them of His great love for all people, but especially these people in Njai Town, Sierra Leone this night! Many made committments to Jesus. Please pray they will get established in good churches and grow!Posted by PicasaPastor Kpewa from Trinity Assembly of God interpreted.
Many hands were raised when they were told of Jesus love for them and they said yes to Jesus. BK's wife was one of the women who made a decision to follow Jesus. Lower center blue dress and head wrap. BK is in tan shirt and cream shorts lower center. BK became a Christian when we first came here and now his wife has turned her life over to Jesus too. BK is the Chief (mayor) of Bo#2 the city where we live.

Missions Month @ Zion AG Bo, Sierra Leone

These are our Birthday clothes Pastor kpewa and his wife Jestina gave to us because they heard it was our birthday week and they wanted us to know they love us and are happy we're here.
Posted by PicasaDanny and Cindy at Zion Assembly of God in Bo. It's missions month and God gave him a great word to encourage everyone to become a missionary. This is a church planting church and they have a bible institute there too. Half the church came forward to dedicating thier lives to reaching the lost for Christ. Praise the Lord! Pray the Holy Spirit would empower them to reach Sierra Leone with the good news of Jesus.
Danny and his interpreter Augusta had the crowd listening intently.

Bo, Sierra Leone Footbal Team

Hey where's the truck? This is most of the Bo#2 football team. Danny is thier mascot and driver to the field. They prayed together before the game started and after they won, they came over to our house to watch the Jesus Film. This film had opening testimonies of world class footballer's. A bunch of our neighbors came over too. Tonight on the way to the Njai Town AG prayer meeting, which is about 6 blocks, it took a lot longer because Danny had to stop and shake hands with so many people on the way. Being affilliated with a soccer team opens a lot of doors in Sierra Leone.Posted by Picasa

The RAINY SEASON has begun! Boy oh boy can it rain. The streets turn to rivers in minutes. Drivers beware and walkers look out! One good thing is in the rainy season the refrigerator and the lights work most of the time, since we have hydro electric power. We harvest our own water and pump it into our water tank to save a few dollars. It is cooler too! 72 at night and 100 or less during the day, but the humidity is always high. We hang out our clothes and it takes about 3 days to dry them. Each night they have to be taken in and hung out the next day. Insects lay thier eggs in the clothing after dark and then if you wear them they burrow into your skin and plant parasites that have to come out. No Thanks, one part of the African experience I'd like to skip Thank You very much.
